A Pride Ride Across Idaho: LGBTQ+ Preview (with Note)

This year's emphasis is "diversity, equity, and inclusion programming" and unnamed services to local youth Pride Clubs.

(Note to Readers: This introduction is written with tongue firmly in cheek. Some noticed the first time. To all others we show our tongue in cheek now. Thanks to all who wondered if this was an endorsement of Pride.)

Pride events will be popping up all over Idaho in June, even though Boise's main events do not take place until September. The month of June is not long enough to contain all of our Gay Pride! Drag shows are one of the staples throughout the state. Most of the drag shows are family friendly. This year's other emphasis is "diversity, equity, and inclusion programming" and services to local youth Pride Clubs.

Trails will be groomed through Sun Valley's Botanical Gardens. Drag story hour is coming to Twin Falls, as is "Pride Goat Yoga" and a chance for children to perform at the Pride 2022 event. Children will learn how to put dollar bills into the garters of drag performers in a family friendly way in Coeur d'Alene. LGBTQ's and their supporters will ride for pride in Boise. Idaho Falls will put on a family friendly drag show as well, preceded by drag queen story hour for children.

Below are previews of the events in Twin Falls, Boise, Coeur d'Alene, Sun Valley and Idaho Falls. Public money almost always supports these events, so this is a priority among Idaho's Department of Health and Welfare. Project Filter is often the vehicle through which public money goes to the Pride tests. Each city has other sponsors as well, as can be seen on the banners below.
